Prolific Tracker is a free, browser-based tracker that doesn't ask for a login or send your imported submissions, earnings, bills or bank balance to our servers.
What stays on your device?
Your display name, imported Prolific submission records, manually entered studies, bill details, estimated available bank balance, settings and payment history are saved in the local storage of the browser you use for this website. CSV and JSON files are processed in your browser rather than uploaded to our servers.
Do we collect your earnings or bank balance?
No. This tracker does not maintain a server database of your personal financial records and does not ask for bank credentials, a Prolific password or account connections. Basic technical requests required to serve the website may still be handled by our hosting provider.
What about privacy and security?
Your tracker information is not publicly visible to other website visitors and is not transmitted to our database. Browser local storage is not the same as encryption: anyone with access to your unlocked browser profile or device may be able to access stored records. Use device security and avoid entering sensitive information on shared computers.
Can I use it on another phone or browser?
Data does not automatically synchronize. Download a JSON backup from Import / backup, transfer it securely, and restore it in the other browser. Backups contain your personal details in readable form; keep them somewhere safe.
What if my browser data is cleared?
Browser reset, private/incognito mode, storage eviction and some device-cleaning tools can delete saved entries. We cannot recover data from our servers, because we do not maintain a copy. Export backups regularly, particularly before switching devices.
Are there tracking pixels, financial-data analytics or paid accounts?
The tracker is built without accounts, marketing trackers, advertising cookies or a personal-finance backend. It is free to use. An optional support link opens Ko-fi in a separate tab; the tracker does not send study or bill data to Ko-fi. If you choose to contribute, Ko-fi and its payment providers may process payment details and share contributor information with the creator under their own policies.
What about the optional Android Share beta?
If Android offers Prolific Tracker as an installed-app share target, its service worker attempts to intercept the shared CSV locally and stage it briefly in on-device IndexedDB for the ordinary import preview. Successful previews clear the staged text. The feature is experimental and is not needed: choose a CSV normally if unsupported. If the service worker is unavailable, a share request may reach the website host; the application rejects that request without reading, saving or importing its contents. No scraping of your Prolific page or automatic account connection occurs.
Is this an official Prolific product?
No. Prolific Tracker is an independent third-party utility by Design Oasis Co and is not affiliated with, authorized by or endorsed by Prolific.
